How to do box breathing

  1. Breathe in through your nose while the orb grows: 4 seconds.
  2. Hold gently while the orb stays full: 4 seconds.

  4. Hold gently while the orb stays small: 4 seconds.
  5. Repeat for 1 to 5 minutes, or longer if it feels good.

When people use box breathing

Its steady count makes it easy to remember and easy to do anywhere: before a meeting or exam, during a break, or whenever you want to settle your focus. If 4 seconds feels long, breathe more lightly or try the Balance pattern (5 in, 5 out) instead.
